Smart Home & Building Automation

A smart building should make everyday life simpler, not more complicated. We design automation that is easy to understand, keeps its basic functions running without the internet and doesn't open your network to attackers.

Overview

Easy control of lighting, shading and heating: open standards, securely networked.

First we clarify with you what the building should do: which rooms, which functions and who will operate them. From this we develop a concept for lighting, shading, heating and security, for flats and houses as well as offices and small commercial buildings. For new builds and renovations we prefer KNX as an open, vendor-neutral standard, and for retrofits we also use wireless solutions.

Every connected device is a possible way into your network. That is why we place smart home devices in a separate network segment, change default passwords, keep software up to date and set up remote access over encrypted connections. Wherever possible, control and data stay local, so that you don't depend on a single cloud service.

After commissioning you receive documentation of the programming and a hands-on introduction. We adjust scenes and schedules when your habits change and extend the system step by step.

Your benefits

  • One partner for automation, network and IT security
  • Open standards such as KNX instead of being tied to one manufacturer
  • Basic functions keep working without an internet connection
  • More everyday comfort through scenes and schedules
  • Energy consumption in view and easy to manage
  • Hardened devices that don't become a way into your network

Scope of services

What we take care of

  • Lighting & scenes

Dimmable lighting and scenes for evenings, film nights or time away, controlled by push-button, touch panel, app or voice command.

  • Shading & shutters

Blinds, roller shutters and awnings move according to schedule, sun position and weather. In strong wind, awnings retract automatically.

  • Heating & climate

Room-by-room control of heating and cooling with schedules. Window contacts turn the heating down automatically while you air the room.

  • Door communication & presence

Video door intercom with the picture on your smartphone, presence simulation while you are on holiday and a link to the alarm system.

  • Energy monitoring

Electricity and heat consumption become visible, including in combination with a photovoltaic system. This shows you where savings are worthwhile.

  • Secure networking

A separate network segment for IoT devices, regular updates, encrypted remote access and local control instead of cloud dependency.

Typical applications

  • Private homes and villas
  • Flats and loft conversions
  • Offices and practices
  • Small commercial buildings
  • Hotels and serviced apartments
  • Renovation and retrofitting of existing buildings

Technologies & standards

  • KNX
  • DALI
  • Matter & Thread
  • Zigbee
  • Modbus
  • Voice control
  • VLAN segmentation
  • VPN remote access

How we work

From assessment to ongoing operation

Every project follows four clear steps. You have one fixed contact person and always know what happens next.

  1. 01

    Assessment

We gather your requirements, visit the site and review your existing systems.

  2. 02

    Concept

You receive a concept with plans, a component list and a transparent quote.

  3. 03

    Implementation

We install and configure carefully, document everything and keep to the agreed schedule.

  4. 04

    Operation

We stay with you after handover, with maintenance, updates and monitoring.

Frequently asked questions

Does a smart home work without the internet?

We design systems so that the basic functions run locally. You can then operate lighting, shading and heating via switches and panels even without the internet. You only need an external connection for remote access and for individual services such as voice assistants.

KNX or wireless: which suits me?

KNX is a wired, open system and is particularly suitable for new builds and renovations. Wireless solutions are a good fit for retrofits when no new cables are to be laid. We often combine the two.

How secure is a smart home?

As secure as its setup. Many devices are shipped with default passwords and are rarely updated. We separate smart home devices from the rest of your network, secure remote access and keep the software up to date as part of our ongoing support.

Can I retrofit an existing house?

Yes. With wireless components and actuators behind existing switches, a lot can be automated without major building work. We look at your electrical installation and network and suggest what makes sense.

Can the system be extended later?

Yes, we plan for that from the start. Open standards and complete documentation mean you can add rooms or functions later, even with a different contractor.
